Philanthropic Campaigns

5 for 5 Campaign: Strengthening the Small Churches

What is 5 for 5?

In 2025, the Come Out of the Wilderness Prayer Ministry’s Philanthropy Board launched the 5 for 5 Campaign as a united effort to strengthen five small churches across Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, and Arkansas. Each of these churches serves as a community anchor—offering spiritual guidance, practical help, and a safe place for connection.

How does 5 for 5 help?

While each congregation meets unique local needs, all share a common challenge: limited resources to serve growing communities. Through this initiative, our board members identified ministries demonstrating community impact, accountability, and sustainability. The campaign provides targeted support so these churches can continue their outreach and care—whether through clothing drives, recovery ministry resources, financial aid, or Thanksgiving meal sponsorship.

Our Philanthropy Board includes:

  • Tornya Gordon, with Carmen Jackson , Dr. Shelley Jeffcoat, and Mekeshia Clayton-Lee – Georgia, Mt. Welcome Missionary Baptist Church (clothing drive)

  • Dr.-Elect Sharon Moore – Arkansas, Wright’s Chapel (Bibles & journals for recovery ministry)

  • Audrey Ferdinand – Florida, Empowerment Center Church / House of Prayer (financial donation)

  • Dr. Tracy Adkison – South Carolina, House of God Church (Thanksgiving Trimming Boxes & sponsored meals)

  • Dr. Shelley Jeffcoat and Mekeshia Clayton-Lee – Tennessee, St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church (journals for Bible Study participants)

Looking Back at Empower Pack: Back-to-School Supplies Drive

We Help to Make a Difference: Kindergarten School Supplies Drive for International Academy of Smyrna (2024-2025 School Year)

Empower Pack: Back-to-School Supplies Drive

Hosted by COOTW Prayer Ministry and Grace and Grit Media

We understood the assignment and delivered! The "Empower Pack" initiative aims to reduce this burden, ensuring no family has to worry about basic school supplies over the summer.

How we helped

Provide Supplies: We’ve secured 50 backpacks and filled them with essentials including notebooks, markers, scissors, pencils, crayons, and more!  These supplies will go directly into the backpacks and into the hands of students in need for the 2024-2025 school year.

Spread the Word: We increased our impact by our reach globally to support more students.

Why It Matters

By contributing to the "Empower Pack," you’re not just filling a backpack—you’re giving a family peace of mind and a child the tools for success from the very first day of school. This support is invaluable for fostering an environment where educational growth and success are within every student’s reach.

Support Our Program

Whether by filling a backpack, spreading the word, or praying for our educators and families, you are an essential part of our community effort. Thank you for your support and for standing with us to make a positive impact on the lives of our children and their families.
